East across London
London City Airport is in the Royal Docks, about 17 miles east of Morden. The drive runs through south London, usually via the South Circular or through the city and the river crossings. It typically takes 55 to 80 minutes, with the biggest variation on weekday mornings.
The Tube alternative
By public transport, you'd take the Northern line to Bank and then the DLR to the airport. It's direct in theory, but it means rush-hour crowds and a change underground with your case. For early flights, or when you'd like to work on the way, most business travellers prefer a car.
Plan around the road, not the terminal
London City has a single, compact terminal, and check-in and security are usually quick. The risk is the journey there. Our advice:
- Allow at least 80 minutes for weekday morning journeys.
- Tell us your flight time, and we'll suggest a pickup time.
- For regular business trips, ask us about repeat bookings.
Executive cars
Many London City passengers choose an executive car, which gives you a quieter space to take calls or prepare. On your return, give us your flight number and your driver will meet you in the small arrivals hall.
