One of London's great estates
The St Helier estate was built by the London County Council between the wars as one of the largest housing estates of its time, spreading across the borders of Morden and Carshalton. It was planned with green spaces and wide roads, and it's still home to thousands of families. St Helier station, on the Thameslink loop through Sutton and Wimbledon, sits in the middle of it.
St Helier Hospital
St Helier Hospital on Wrythe Lane is the main hospital for much of our area, and journeys there make up a big share of our local work: patients, visitors and staff on shifts at all hours. A car drops you close to the entrance, which matters when you're unwell or have limited mobility.
For outpatient appointments, a wait-and-return booking means your driver waits and brings you home. Let us know about wheelchairs or walking aids when you book, and we'll send a suitable car.
Everyday trips from the estate
Many St Helier journeys are short: to Morden town centre and the Tube, to the shops at Rose Hill, or to Sutton for the High Street. We also run regular school runs for families on the estate.
Airports from St Helier
St Helier is well placed for Gatwick, which is usually under an hour away via the A217. Heathrow is also well within reach. For early flights, book the night before.
