West from Paddington
Paddington is the London terminus for Great Western Railway, with trains to Reading, Oxford, Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Devon and Cornwall. It's also on the Elizabeth line and the Heathrow Express. If you're heading west for a holiday or a trip home, a car from Morden gets you and your luggage there without changing trains.
The Tube route is awkward
From Morden, there's no simple Tube route to Paddington. You'd need at least one change, usually two, to reach the Bakerloo, Circle or Elizabeth line. By car, Paddington is about 9.5 miles away, usually 35 to 50 minutes. Paddington is outside the Congestion Charge zone.
A tip for Heathrow
If you're thinking of going to Paddington to catch the Heathrow Express, it's usually quicker to skip it. From Morden, a direct car to Heathrow takes around the same time as reaching Paddington, and there's no train to catch afterwards.
