Tube or taxi?
Morden sits at the southern end of the Northern line, and trains on the Charing Cross branch run direct to Waterloo in around half an hour. For a commuter with a bag over one shoulder, that's hard to beat. A car makes more sense when:
- you're travelling with suitcases to connect with a long-distance train
- you're arriving late at night and would rather not take the Tube and walk home
- the Tube's stairs and crowds are difficult because of mobility, children or a buggy
- there are three or four of you, when a car can compare well with separate fares
About Waterloo
Waterloo is one of Britain's busiest railway stations and the terminus for South Western Railway, with trains to Surrey, Hampshire, Dorset and the south-west. Its famous Victory Arch entrance faces the South Bank, a short walk from the London Eye, the Southbank Centre and the Old Vic. We often collect passengers here after an evening out, as well as off trains.
Drive time
Waterloo is about 9 miles from Morden, usually 30 to 45 minutes by car via the A24 through Clapham and Kennington. Waterloo is inside central London's Congestion Charge zone, so ask us how this affects your fare when you book.
